Susan Haywood, LCPC

Susan Haywood Lohr, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor at The Modalities Group in Bowie, Maryland. At the practice, Mrs. Lohr provides her patients with compassionate and effective care in a comfortable environment. 

Mrs. Lohr completed her master’s degree in clinical psychology at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She has experience working with diverse clients through individual and family therapy from young adulthood through older adulthood. 

Mrs. Lohr has experience treating depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, life transitions and adjustments, spirituality, and end-of-life issues. She tends to allow the client to direct the session to what is most important to address at that moment via person-centered techniques. 

She also utilizes other therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), coping/stress management techniques, mindfulness skills, motivational interviewing, and positive psychology. 

Mrs. Lohr enjoys building connections with clients to create a warm, trusting, safe environment where others can feel comfortable discussing difficult matters. She also strives to help others enhance their abilities to make positive changes emotionally and in their thought processes to achieve more fulfillment and happiness in their lives.
